The history of Walhalla SC is an interesting one. The city is named for Valhalla, the afterlife in Norse Mythology where warriors would go if selected to fight during Ragnarök. Due to its German heritage, Walhalla is known for its annual Oktoberfest Fest, which begins on the third Friday of October each year. The festival takes place on Main Street in Walhalla and on the Sertoma Field. This festival includes art and craft vendors, dancing, music, specialty food vendors, carnival rides and other festive activities.
