Abbeville County is known for its rich in both history and natural resources. Abbeville County is located in the Upstate of South Carolina, stretching along the Georgia border and east to the Saluda River. As of the 2018 census, its population was 24,541. It is the first county in the Unite States alphabetically. Abbeville County is included in the Greenwood, SC Micropolitan Statistical Area, which is also included in the Greenville-Spartanburg-Anderson, SC combined Statistical Area.
Abbeville County got its name from the town of Abbeville, France. The county was originally part of Ninety-Six District, SC, but was designated Abbeville County in 1785, with parts of the county later going to the creation of the counties of Greenwood and McCormick. Abbeville County was settled by Scotch Irish and French-Huguenot farmers in the mid 18th century. At one point, Abbeville County was a hotbed of secession before the Civil War and was also where the last Confederate council of war was held.

Some of the schools zoned within the district would include Abbeville County Adult Education, Abbeville High School, Diamond Hill Elementary, and Wright Middle School.
